Russian jets on Wednesday bombed the Miyassar Al-Hamdo Hospital in the town of Al-Ghadfa in rural Idlib, wounding several civilians and destroying the facility.
The attack came one week after Russian airstrikes destroyed Al-Rahma Hospital in the town of Tal Minnes in southern rural Idlib, putting it out of service.
According to local activists, two medical workers were injured in the attack on the Al-Ghadfa hospital which used to provide medical services for tens of thousands of civilians in the region.
The local news outlet Baladi News reported that a Russian jet bombed the western part of al-Ghadfa south of Idlib at 10.35 p.m. on Tuesday, directly hitting the hospital.
The hospital provided specialized medical services for women and children in the towns and villages east of Maaret al-Numan. An estimated half million people have been left without access to health care as a result.
The ferocious bombing campaign, which has been ongoing for over four months, has resulted in the destruction of at least 35 hospitals and health centers in the provinces pf Idlib, Hama and Aleppo. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
