Russian jets on Sunday bombed civilian homes in the town of Qal’at al-Madiq in northwestern rural Hama, killing seven civilians and injuring many others. The victims included a young man and his mother. The Russian airstrikes have intensified in recent weeks and did not stop even during the 12th round of the Astana talks held on 25-26 April.
According to local activists, Russian jets carried out several airstrikes on residential areas in the town.
The Free Directorate of Health in Hama on Sunday said that Russian airstrikes also knocked out the 111 Specialist Hospital in the town.
Local activists said that a 16-year-old girl was killed and another civilian was lightly injured in mortar shelling by regime forces on the town of Al-Hawiz in Al-Ghab Plain in rural Hama.
Russian airstrikes on Friday and Saturday killed ten civilians, including a woman, in the village of Al-Amqaya in northwestern rural Hama.
The Assad regime and Russian forces have been repeatedly carrying out rocket and artillery shelling on the provinces of Idlib and Hama although the area is covered by the Russian-Turkish agreement calling for a halt to bombardment in the area. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
