The Russian occupation air force continues to target hospitals and other vital civilian centers as well as civilian homes in northwestern Syria. Multiples Russian airstrikes on Monday hit two hospitals in the town of Daret Izza in western rural Aleppo, knocking the two facilities out of service and injuring civilians and medical personnel.
Al-Kinana hospital was the last remaining hospital offering general surgery services in the region, while Al-Firdous hospital was the last remaining children hospital.
The Civil Defense Corps published a video showing the devastation caused by the Russian attacks on the two hospitals, one of which almost completely collapsed. The video also shows damage to medical supplies inside the hospital.
The Syrian National Coalition said that the attacks on the Al-Firdous and Al-Kinana hospitals in western rural Aleppo demonstrated insistence of the Assad regime and Russia on targeting hospitals, an atrocity that has already been documented dozens of times before. It cited Russia’s targeting of four hospitals in less than 12 hours last year.
The Coalition stressed that Russia’s crimes are taking place right under the watchful eyes of the whole world, a fact that has already been confirmed by the countless attacks on hospitals, schools, public markets as well as the hundreds of thousands of people who were displaced from their homes. It pointed out that these atrocities have already been documented by local and international human rights organizations. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
