Violent Regime’s Airstrikes on Binnish, Idlib Kill Two People & Destroy a Hospital & Four Schools

The town of Binnish in rural Idlib came under heavy aerial bombardment by the Assad regime’s air force on Monday. The bombings killed two people and injured more than 20 others as well as caused massive destruction to medical and educational facilities.

Activists published photos of the massive damage that took place in Binnish, saying that Assad’s jets bombed the only remaining hospital in the town, rendering it out of service. The airstrikes caused massive damage to the emergency and radiology departments, administrative offices and ambulances.

The Directorate of Health in the town indicated that the hospital offered healthcare to more than 100,000 people in the town and surrounding villages.

Violent airstrikes also hit schools complex in the town, putting four schools out of service, namely the Mustafa Farhat schools, the girls' secondary school, Mamdouh Shuaib school, and Asaad Aldani school, according to the Director of Education in Idlib.

Director of the Information Office of the Directorate of Education in Idlib Mustafa Haj Ali, said that the repairing of the targeted educational facilities will be quite costly as they need new windows, doors, teaching aids and furniture.

The Assad regime and Russian forces have intensified attacks on towns and villages of rural Idlib in recent weeks, targeting mainly vital civilian centers and infrastructure as well as killing dozens of people and injuring hundreds more. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
