The Syrian Coalition and the British special envoy to Syria Garth Bayley discussed preparations for the upcoming Friends of Syria meeting during the meeting the Syrian Coalition’s headquarters in Istanbul.
The Syrian Coalition’s leadership stresses on the need to fight terrorism in all its forms and to give special focus on rooting out is causes, most notably the Assad regime and its allied militias. It also pointed to the need to step up all kinds of support for the Syrian Coalition on the international level, and to push for occupying Syria’s seat in the Arab League and the United Nations.
The meeting also discussed the intra-opposition dialogues held recently, particularly between the Syrian Coalition and the National Coordination Commission.
Moreover, the two sides discussed finding solutions to the problems faced by the Syrian refugees, especially the issuance and renewal of passports, which the Assad regime has been denying to many Syrians as a form of collective punishment. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
