The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) strongly condemns the egregious attack perpetrated by the PYD terrorist militia on two offices affiliated with the Kurdish National Council in Al-Hasakah province. This brazen assault included the wanton destruction of furniture and sabotage of two offices in the town of Qamishli, alongside an attempted arson attack on the office of the Kurdish National Council in the town of Al-Qahtaniya, all occurring simultaneously at dawn on Wednesday.
The relentless campaign of repression by the PYD militia underscores its persistent adherence to terrorism as a guiding principle. This latest incident reaffirms its disregard for freedom, political diversity, and national aspirations, underscoring its similarity to the Assad regime in its repression and crimes against civilians, as well as its suppression of dissenting voices.
The SOC urges the international community, particularly those countries supporting this terrorist militia, which poses a grave threat to the security and stability of the region and exacerbates tensions among the Syrian people’s various components, to take decisive action to cease their support and halt the ongoing violations against the populace in areas under its control.
The SOC reiterates its unwavering support for the rights of all Syrian people to freely express their opinions without fear or intimidation, including the freedom to establish political parties, engage in political activities, and peacefully demonstrate. The SOC underscores the Syrian people’s enduring aspiration for a free, democratic, and unified state governed by the rule of law, characterized by justice, equal citizenship, and political pluralism.
