A film depicting the suffering of Syrian refugees won the best film and best actress awards in the Irish capital of Dublin.
The film, Misafir, by Turkish director Andaç Haznedaroğlu, was praised by many Irish film lovers and foreign diplomats in Dublin.
A photo exhibition titled ‘Migration in the Lenses of Syrian Refugees’ was held on the sidelines of the film festival which was held in the historic building of the Trinity College. The event took place in conjunction with an event that was organized by Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Centre, the Turkish Embassy in Dublin, Solidarity with Refugees Association (Mülteci-Der), and Trinity College.
The film Misafir also won the viewers award in the Antalya Film Festival as well as the best film and story at the international Bosphorus Film Festival.
The film, which depicts the suffering of civilians resulting from bombardment and migration, was screened at the Silk Road Festival in Dublin and the Arab Film Festival in Malmö, Sweden.
Eight short films shedding light on the reality of Syrian children, especially refugees, were screened in the Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival in October last year. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department + Agencies)
