The Iranian militias continue to commit crimes against unarmed civilians across Syria on a daily basis. A Palestinian human rights group said that Iranian militia bombed the Al-Nayrab refugee camp for Palestinian refugees near Aleppo.
The London-based Action Group for Palestinians of Syria said that its investigations concluded that the Iranian militias stationed in the 80th Brigade near Aleppo International Airport bombed the camp, leaving many civilian casualties, including nine deaths among Palestinian-Syrians.
On May 15, 2019, rockets hit Al-Nayrab camp and Al-Jamiliyah district in Aleppo, killing 11 people and injuring 17 others, most of them women and children.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said: “On Tuesday night, as families gathered to break their fasts for the Ramadan Iftar meal, several rockets hit the densely populated Nayrab camp for Palestine refugees in Aleppo, killing at least ten civilians and wounding more than thirty.”
“The ongoing hostilities around the Nayrab camp and the ensuing deteriorating security situation have forced UNRWA to suspend the six schools that it runs within the camp – impacting more than 3,000 children,” the UN agency added.
The Nayrab camp lies 13 kilometers east of Aleppo and is one of the most densely populated camps for Palestinian refugees in Syria. It is home to some 18,000 residents and has been affected by varying levels of hostilities throughout this eight-year long conflict. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
