A delegation of the Syrian opposition’s Negotiations Committee, headed by Nasr Al-Hariri, met with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri in Cairo on Tuesday as part of the international tour the delegation has embarked on.

The meetings discussed the Arab and international efforts to find a political solution in Syria through the Geneva process and in accordance relevant international resolutions.

Participants in the meetings agreed on the need to implement international resolutions that reclaim the Syrian people’s right to live a free and decent life and end the seven-year killings in Syria.

Hariri emphasized the important role that Egypt can play as a major Arab country in enforcing UN resolutions on Syria and in stressing the need to abide by these resolutions as well as in not allowing the derailment of the Geneva process from achieving its objectives in finding a just solution to the Syrian crisis.

For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri commended the Committee’s performance and its sending of a unified delegation to the Geneva negotiations. He expressed his country's support for the Committee and its determination to help achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)

President of the Syrian Coalition Riad Seif stressed that success of the Iranian people in achieving their demands through the revolution against the dictatorial Mullah regime will have a positive impact on the situation in Syria and most of the countries of the region.

Seif on Wednesday said that changing the murderous Iranian regime, the first supporter of sectarian militias in the region, will help restore security, stability and peace in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon.

Seif stressed that the slogans being chanted by the Iranian protestors are a direct response to the practices of the Iranian regime and its confiscation of public rights and freedoms in violation of international law and international humanitarian law. These slogans also come in response to the Iranian regime’s support for death squads in other countries such as the sectarian militias in Syria, the militias of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Iraq, the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, and the Houthi militia in Yemen.

The Iranian-backed sectarian militias’ invasion of Syria will not last long, Seif stressed. He called on the Syrian revolutionary forces to unite and close ranks so that the revolution is rekindled and sectarian militias are ousted from all Syrian territory.
