The National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces (SOC) is urgently calling on all donors and relief and humanitarian organizations to provide a quick relief to about 100,000 displaced Syrians who were forced to leave their homes due to the barbaric bombardment and destruction carried out by the Assad regime and its allies throughout the countryside of Hama and Idlib.
The recent wave of displacement comes as an extension of the regime’s forced displacement plan that targets the Syrian people for years to achieve what the regime’s head described it as the “homogeneous” Syrian society. This systematic displacement, especially during the past year, when millions of Syrians were displaced from Damascus countryside, Deraa and Homs to the northwest region, puts a heavy burden upon the Syrian society, the relief organizations and the donors who are facing a state of emergency that requires strengthening efforts and doing everything possible to meet the needs of the displaced people urgently.
We call on the countries of the Friends of the Syrian People Group to provide assistance to relief organizations operating in Syria and increase their share of aids to ensure an urgent response to the worsening conditions on the ground, and to unsuspend the aids for the organizations that provide humanitarian and relief assistance and basic needs to civilians in this region after suspending support in the past period.
The SOC recalls on the leaders of the free world and the friends of the Syrian people to take the necessary decisions and steps to stop the ongoing bombing and displacement campaign and to save the lives of unarmed civilians in the region that has received millions of displaced civilians from all over Syria.
