Interim Prime Minister Meets with Syrian Islamic Council

Ahmad Tomeh, interim prime minister, met with a delegation of the Syrian Islamic Council at the headquarters of the interim government in Gaziantep, Turkey. Tomeh stressed need to appoint  a Grand Mufti for Syria from within the Council. The meeting also discussed topics related to the Hajj Committee. Tomeh pointed out to the importance of continued and permanent cooperation between the interim government and the Council. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Yasin Najjar, Minister of Communications, Industry and Transport, while the Council was represented in the meeting by Abdel Moez Hamid, Adnan al-Sakka,  Mamdouh Junaid, Ahmed Hawa, Mohammed Yasser Masdi, and Sheikh Anas Swed, Abdullah Osso, and Mohammed Zaatari.
