Activists in the district of Darya west of Damascus said on Sunday that rebel fighters destroyed two tanks and killed eight pro-regime militants in the ongoing clashes. Regime forces have launched an offensive to recapture the district which has been liberated and under rebels control for nearly three years.
In eastern Ghouta, rebel fighters continue to repel regime attacks on Al-Marj area despite the close air cover the Russian air force provides for regime forces. Rebel fighters also held off a regime attack on the town of Bala, destroying a T-72 tank and a BMP armored vehicle belonging to regime forces.
Many pro-regime militants were reportedly killed by friendly fire when Assad warplanes bombed the district of Al-Dukhaniya in rural Damascus.
Meanwhile, Rebel fighters destroyed a tank and a 57-mm gun belonging to regime forces in rural Latakia. Dozens of pro-regime militants were killed or injured when rebel fighters targeted two personnel carrier trucks with anti-armor missiles (TOW). (Source: Syrian Coalition)
