The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said that Assad regime helicopters dropped no fewer than 534 barrel bombs on FSA-held areas in four Syrian provinces during the month of October.
In a report released on Thursday, the monitoring group said that 397 barrel bombs were dropped on Rural Damascus, 102 on Deir Ezzor, 23 on Hama, and 12 on Idlib.
The attacks claimed the lives of at least six civilians, including three children in the province of Deir Ezzor.
The Network pointed out that the attacks violated UN Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254. The latest attacks have brought the total number of barrel bombs that have hit FSA-held areas since the beginning of 2017 to 5,318, the report added.
On Wednesday, the Network said it had documented the deaths of 435 people, including 145 children and 85 women in massacres committed by the Russia and Assad regime forces as well as the international anti-ISIS coalition during the month of October. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
