Intensive artillery shelling by the Assad regime forces stationed in the Zahra neighborhood of Aleppo on the town of Kafarhamra in northern rural Aleppo killed Al-Nahda club’s goalkeeper Nour Dwalibi and injured five other civilians.
The Syrian Civil Defense in the province of Aleppo on Tuesday confirmed the news of Dwalibi’s death, adding that its volunteers rushed to the site targeted by the shelling and rescued the injured.
Local activists pointed out that the Assad regime forces also targeted the village of Khalsa in rural Aleppo with artillery and mortar shells. They added that Assad’s forces stationed in the Zahra and Hamdaniyah neighborhoods of Aleppo city routinely target towns and villages in northern rural Aleppo. The shelling has been causing civilian casualties and destroying the infrastructure.
In early September, the Assad regime forces hit the towns of Kafarhamra and Hreitan north of Aleppo with more than 100 heavy artillery shells, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties, including women and children. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department + Agencies)
