Iranian terrorist militias seized dozens of civilian homes in the major towns in eastern rural Deir Ezzor to repopulate them with their families, local news networks reported. The move came as part of Iran’s strategy to penetrate the Syrian society and export the Khomeini revolution.
Al-Furat Post local news network said that militiamen of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized at least 50 houses in the town of Al-Mayadeen and dozens more in the neighborhoods of Al-Jamiyat and Al-Masaqin in Deir Ezzor city as well as Al-Maari Street in the town of Albukmal near the Iraqi border.
The network pointed out that these militias brought their families, composed of around 300 women and children, from Iraq to live in these houses as part of a long-term plan to stay in Syria.
Activists in Al-Mayadeen said that residents of the town saw big trucks and military vehicles unloading families of the IRGC militiamen in the center of the town then moving them to the houses that were seized.
The Syrian Coalition said that the move had further exposed Iran’s plans in Syria. President of the Coalition Abdurrahman Mustafa said that the presence of Iran and its terrorist militias in Syria means the occupation will continue and risks fueling sectarian tensions and causing further chaos.
President Mustafa said that “the presence of the Iranian militias in Syria risks undermining the international efforts to reach a political solution as it threatens to sabotage the political process altogether. The presence of these militias is a major obstacle to the consolidation of the ceasefire and to any tangible progress in negotiations, he added. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
