The Syrian Civil Defense reports that the combined attacks by the Assad regime and Russia over the past five days have resulted in the deaths and injuries of 260 civilians.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, these attacks have led to the tragic loss of 46 civilians, including 13 children and 9 women. Additionally, 213 civilians have been wounded, including 69 children and 41 women. Notably, two Syrian Civil Defense volunteers were injured in a bombing in Idlib while performing their duties.
The most devastating day of this escalation was October 6th, where 15 civilians lost their lives, including 3 children and a woman. Approximately 80 civilians, including 24 children and 14 women, sustained injuries due to systematic terrorist attacks carried out by regime forces.
The report highlights that 10 educational facilities were targeted, along with 5 medical facilities that suffered damage. Additionally, the attacks struck 5 mosques, 3 internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, 4 popular markets, 4 Syrian Civil Defense centers, a power station, and 3 poultry farms.
The Syrian Civil Defense notes that the Assad regime and Russia conducted a total of 148 artillery, missile, and air attacks, employing hundreds of missiles, including 7 Russian air attacks, 59 missile attacks, and 74 artillery attacks. Furthermore, there were 4 attacks involving missiles loaded with internationally banned incendiary ammunition and one attack with a surface-to-surface missile loaded with internationally banned cluster munitions.
In its report, the Syrian Civil Defense underscores that the absence of accountability and the perpetuation of impunity for these crimes enable the Assad regime to continue its relentless bombing of residential neighborhoods, essential facilities, and schools without any deterrent.
