In a display of solidarity with the ongoing anti-regime movement in southern Syria, which has persisted for over forty days, the Kurdish National Council organized a sit-in protest in Qamishli to express its support for the uprising in Suwayda province.
The demonstration featured the participation of members of the Presidency of the Kurdish National Council, members of the General Secretariat, leaders and members of local councils, women’s and youth organizations, as well as representatives from Kurdish political parties.
Akram Hussein, a member of the secretariat of the Kurdish National Council, delivered a speech in both Kurdish and Arabic languages. In his address, he underscored the Council’s solidarity with the people of Suwayda.
The Council further affirmed that this demonstration of solidarity with the people of Suwayda was intended to endorse their rightful demands for freedom, justice, equality, and the establishment of a democratic Syria that serves all of its citizens.
