The Syrian Response Coordinators Team has strongly condemned the aggressive attacks carried out by the forces of the Assad regime, as well as its Iranian and Russian allies, in northwestern Syria. These continued violations in the region have resulted in civilian casualties.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Response Coordinators affirmed that the deliberate targeting of essential service facilities and vital infrastructure in northwestern Syria is a calculated military strategy aimed at destroying civilian infrastructure and compelling residents to flee.
The report further confirmed that the regime’s ongoing hostilities in the northwestern regions of Syria will lead to new waves of displacement, exacerbating the suffering of internally displaced persons, particularly with the approach of winter.
The statement urged all international actors and organizations to take decisive action to halt the violations and hostilities perpetrated by the regime, Iran, and Russia in the region. Immediate and serious measures are needed to put an end to these attacks.
Furthermore, the report called on all humanitarian organizations operating in the region to resume their work in various areas and to reinstate humanitarian operations for civilians, with a particular focus on assisting those who have been displaced.
The Response Coordinators Team also called for the initiation of a comprehensive and impartial international investigation into the recent crimes committed by regime forces, Russia, and Iran, emphasizing the need for transparency in this process.
