The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of the Nowruz Day, the feast of the new day, especially the Syrian Kurds for whom this day represents an occasion of great cultural and social importance.
In a press release issued on Friday, the SOC said that throughout history, Nowruz has been a symbol of freedom and emancipation from oppression and tyranny. “Despite the hardships our revolution is going through, the Syrian people renew their hopes and aspirations to live in a country free from injustice, oppression, criminality and occupation.”
The SOC stressed that on this occasion “they reaffirm their hope and commitment to building a common future, hope that stems from truth, freedom, and dignity as well as the confidence that victory will be on the side of what is right, no matter how the forces of evil ally against it.”
“The struggle of the Syrian people has always met the meanings of Nowruz, namely liberation from injustice and the upholding of the values of freedom and peace. This struggle is also a project to safeguard political, social, cultural and religious rights as well as to preserve the cultural heritage of our homeland.”
The SOC added: “We have to believe that the struggle to safeguard the rights of all Syrians as partners in the homeland is the real guarantee of a new Syria.” (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
