A delegation from the Arab Council for Defense of Revolutions and Democracy visited on Wednesday Syrian refugees’ camps in Sanliurfa province in southeastern Turkey.
The delegation included former Tunisian president Munsif al-Marzouki, Yemen’s Nobel peace laureate Tawakkol Karman, head of the Egyptian al-Ghad Party Ayman Nour, and Syrian businessman Ghassan Hito. Accompanied by Vice-president of the Justice and Development Party Yasin Aktay, the delegation visited “Rizq” Office which provides services to the Syrian refugees in Sanliurfa.
Marzouki said that the delegation came to Turkey in order to examine the situation of Syrian refugees in Turkey, expressing appreciation to the Turkish people for their generosity and hospitality.
Karman reaffirmed she stands on the side of the Syrian people, calling for providing them with the support they need to regain their freedom.
For his part, Nour said that Assad killed hundreds of thousands of Syrians and displaced millions from their homes.
The Arab Council for Defense of Revolutions and Democracy, which is presided by Marzouki, was established in July 2015 by a number of prominent political figures from the Arab Spring countries. (Source: Anadolu)
