Hundreds of British and Syrian protesters on Sunday gathered in the British capital London to press the British government to take action in order to stop the deliberate targeting of hospitals, medical staff and paramedics in Syria by the Assad regime.
The Assad regime and Russian forces have recently escalated attacks on medical facilities across Syria, killing and injuring dozens of civilians and medical staff members. The bombed hospitals included ones run or supported by Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Syrian Coalition earlier condemned the Assad regime’s and Russia’s attacks on hospitals and medical and civil defense centers, stressing that these attacks amount to war crimes that need to be deterred by the UN Security Council and the international community.
