Speaking at the 31st Session Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan said that Turkey sincerely support the opposition groups that are fighting their own war of independence against the oppressive Assad regime.
He added that the region of Turkmen Mount in northern rural Latakia does not have any ISIS presence. “Let’s not deceive anyone, only our relatives, the Bayırbucak Turkmens are there. They [Russia] are striking the Bayırbucak Turkmens while claiming to strike Daesh.
“We know the reason behind the attacks targeting the Bayırbucak Turkmens by the Assad regime and the countries supporting it. These attacks, targeting this region, where Daesh has no presence at all, aims to support the Assad regime,” Erdogan stresses.
He also said that Turkey is determined to expel all terrorist organizations from the area from Jarabulus to the Mediterranean. “Turkey has provided all kinds of assistance for our brothers and sisters living in this region and will continue to do so.” (Source: Anadolu)
