Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah said that Kuwait is studying hosting a third donor conference for the relief of the Syrian people during a press conference in Beirut, attended also by Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Al Aarabi, Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and Foreign Minister of Mauritania, Ahmed Wald Takdi. Sabah added that of Kuwait would provide Lebanon with the funding it needs to manage the refugee crisis, pointing out that a delegation from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development will visit Lebanon in the next couple of days in this regard. Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil al-Arabi said that 13 million Syrians, including 9 million in Syria, need aid, adding that there are ongoing talks aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to all affected and besieged areas in Syria. It is worth noting that Kuwait had hosted two donor conferences for Syria over the past two years and raised $1.5 billion USD in the first and $2.4 billion USD in the second.
