The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned comments by the Israeli occupation’s prime minister that the Golan Heights “will forever remain in Israeli hands.”
The 57-member organization on Wednesday said the comments were a violation of international law and a move to challenge relevant international resolutions.
The OIC also described Netanyahu’s statement as dangerous,
The OIC Secretary-General Iyad bin Amin Madani said that the organization will call for a meeting of member states to further discuss these comments. He stressed that the Golan Heights is an Arab land, while demanding an end to the Israeli occupation of all Arab lands since 1967.
Spokesman for the opposition’s High Negotiations Committee Riad Nassan Agha on Tuesday condemned the remarks made by prime minister of the Israeli occupation Benjamin Netanyahu.
Agha said that these remarks represented a violation of international law, stressing that the Syrian Golan Heights are part of Syria and always will be.
Agha pointed out that the Israeli occupation could not convince anyone in the world to recognize its alleged right to annex an Arab land through repeated aggression, stressing that the whole world recognizes the Golan Heights as part of Syria.
The Arab League on Monday denounced Netanyahu’s comments as “a new escalation that represents a brazen violation of international law.” The League reaffirmed that the occupied Golan Heights are Syrian Arab territory, stressing the Syrian people’s sovereign right to own this part of the Arab land.
The Arab League warned the Israeli occupation of the consequences of exploiting the situation in Syria in order to justify the continued occupation of the Golan Heights. (Source: Syrian Coalition + Agencies)
