Hadi Al-Bahra, President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), emphasized that the Assad regime is ignoring the escalating tensions and ongoing Israeli occupation airstrikes in the region, instead choosing to target civilians in the liberated areas.
Recently, there has been an increase in bombing operations carried out by regime forces and sectarian militias on civilian areas in northern Syria, including the use of suicide drones. Yesterday, a civilian was killed in the village of Al-Qasr in western rural Aleppo due to artillery shelling on residential areas.
Al-Bahra stressed that the Assad regime and its allies continue to treat civilians in liberated areas as primary targets for their artillery and missiles.
He called on the international community not to overlook the Syrian crisis under the pretext of multiple global crises and urged them to work towards a political transition by implementing UN Security Council Resolutions 2254 and 2118, putting an end to the crises caused by the Assad regime and its supporters in Syria.
