The President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, expressed his strong condemnation of the horrific war crimes being committed by the Assad regime and Russian forces against civilians in northern Syria.
Russian airstrikes targeted civilian targets in Idlib on Wednesday, killing 10 people and injuring dozens more in an attack on a furniture workshop.
The brutal attack was preceded by artillery shelling by regime forces on the town of Atarib and its outskirts, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to others.
Al-Bahra stressed that the ongoing targeting of civilians and public facilities by Russian forces, along with the crimes of the Assad regime, Iranian militias, and their allies, necessitates firm international intervention to halt these attacks and protect civilians. He called for activating accountability mechanisms to ensure justice for the victims of war crimes and violations.
