The Vice President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdul Majeed Barakat, congratulated Professor Abdullah Marandi on his reelection as President of the Free Syrian Students Union, wishing him success in advancing students’ affairs, completing organizational work, and contributing to the success of the Syrian revolution.
Barakat emphasized that the formation of the Free Syrian Students Union in the liberated areas has a significant positive impact on representing students and their demands, reinforcing their commitment to the goals of the Syrian revolution: ending the tyrannical regime and achieving freedom, dignity, and democracy.
He underscored the importance of empowering youth to engage in democratic practices, such as the elections held by the Free Syrian Students Union, considering it a step that will positively influence the progress toward achieving the Syrian people’s goals and strengthening the institutions of the revolution. Barakat highlighted that youth are the present and future of the country.
Barakat also pointed out that the SOC greatly values the crucial role of all unions and associations in the liberated areas. He added that the SOC’s syndicates and unions working group has closely followed the activities of the Free Syrian Students Union and their ongoing efforts for improvement and genuine representation of students.
