The Political Committee of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) convened its regular meeting on Thursday to discuss the latest developments on the ground and in politics. Members listened to reports from various offices, departments, and working groups, and deliberated over recent regional developments and escalating military operations.
President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, provided an overview of the presidency’s activities, including its monitoring of the working groups’ efforts, as well as updates on military and political developments concerning Syria. He also addressed issues pertaining to Syrians residing in Türkiye.
Vice-Presidents reported on their activities over the past week, while the Secretary-General outlined the General Secretariat’s recent work, with a focus on monitoring the conditions of Syrian refugees in Türkiye and Lebanon, and presenting departmental reports.
The Political Committee reviewed reports from SOC representatives and offices in Germany, France, Egypt, Jordan, Italy, as well as in the Turkish provinces of Hatay and Mersin.
Additionally, reports were presented by the SOC’s Political Parties and Movements Working Group, the Inter-faith Working Group, and a field report by the military bloc.
Furthermore, the committee examined a political analysis from the Studies and Consultations Working Group, which discussed the implications of the Turkish local elections on Syrian affairs, the Israeli bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, and the killing of several leaders of Iranian terrorist militias.
