The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) and the Syrian National Olympic Committee have extended invitations to 46 international sports bodies to attend the Peace and Spring Marathon, scheduled for April 27th in the town of Afrin in the Aleppo countryside.
The SOC emphasized in its announcement its aim to activate sports activities in the liberated areas through the Syrian National Olympic Committee, enabling all members of society to engage in physical activities by organizing sports programs and events.
Highlighting that the Peace and Spring Marathon in Afrin is one of these activities, the SOC noted it as the region’s inaugural event, featuring a 10 km race suitable for individuals of all ages and physical fitness levels.
Additionally, the SOC stated that approximately 200 participants spanning various categories and age groups will partake in the marathon, with winners receiving financial prizes.
