The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) warns once again of the dangers of escalation in Idlib and the dangerous breach of the existing ceasefire agreement in the region. It also warns of the consequences of these repeated violations of the de-escalation zone agreement which require an urgent international action before things go completely out of control.
Regime forces, backed by Iranian militias, carried out violent a rocket and artillery shelling on rural Idlib, including on the towns of Ariha, Ihsim, Al-Bara, Mariyan, Balshoun, Deir Sunbul, Jabal Al-Zawiya, Jabal Al-Arbaeen, Shannan, Kafraya and many others.
The shelling killed eight people, including three children, after it directly hit civilian homes in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
The shelling also targeted neighborhoods in eastern Idlib, while more than 50 shells pounded the town of Ariha.
The SOC demands an urgent international response from guarantors of the ceasefire agreement and international actors, warning that ignoring these crimes will send the wrong message to the criminals to commit more crimes.
