In yet a new crime against unarmed civilians, five farmers were killed when regime forces hit with missiles civilian vehicles near the village of Al-Zaqqoum in Al-Ghab Plain in northwestern rural Hama on Saturday.
This crime came while the Syrian people are going through disastrous conditions. In addition to stealing people’s money and sources of livelihood, the Assad regime is using the country’s resources to kill them and destroy their sources of livelihoods.
Military attacks and crimes being committed by the Assad regime and its backers come in the context of the regime’s insistence on pursuing a military solution despite the fact that all military options have reached a dead end.
The international community’s lukewarm position towards the continued bloodshed sends a very negative and dangerous message which the regime understands as a green light to continue with its crimes and the disruption of political solution.
It is imperative that the international community take effective, serious action to put an end to the crimes of this murderous regime and stop giving it more time which only means more victims and bloodshed.
