Press Statement
Salem Al Meslet
Spokesperson of the Syrian Coalition
March 17, 2015
“I am appalled by reports coming from Sarmin, Idlib about a regime gas attack in the area late yesterday. At least six people were killed, and scores injured, with toddlers, of about 3 years of age, making a large number of the victims.
“Yesterday’s attacks come just ten days after the UN Security Council passed resolution 2099 condemning the use of chlorine gas in Syria and demanding an end to chemical attacks.
“Enough is enough. Assad knows he can get away with murder. He has done that for four years. Unless the UN Security Council takes enforceable measures to ensure accountability, we would be fooling ourselves to believe that Assad will stop gassing innocent people in Syria.”
