Following a year long crippling blockade of a fiercely resistant population, the Syrian regime has targeted Dier Ezzor civilian areas with both Napalm filled explosive weapons and massive air attacks.
Confirmed reports have claimed that the Syrian regime attacks have escalated over the past week, with constant pounding of the area, using incendiary and cluster weaponry.
Grave warnings of subsequent massacres, committed by Assad’s regime forces against the civilians of Dier Ezzor and nearby villages, have been sounded by the citizens of these areas. The Syrian Coalition echoes these warnings and stresses that Assad’s forces will continue to exploit the continued lack of action from the international community.
The Syrian Coalition urges the entire international community to respond quickly to rescue women, children and all civilians in this area and eliminate any further exposure to Assad’s constant bombardment over the past year.
The Syrian Coalition also reiterates its appeal to the international community to quickly pass and adopt a binding resolution through the UNSC to implement practical steps to end the bloodshed, establish humanitarian corridors for aid in affected areas, and to support the revolution and end the ongoing violence in Syria.
Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
