Press Statement “Original in Arabic”

The Syrian Coalition confirms it continues to consult and coordinate with the effective rebel factions on the ground to set up the FSA Supreme Military Council, a process which is essential for regaining freedom and for achieving revolutionary goals.
The FSA Chief of Staff brigadier general Ahmed Birri, along with a committee drawn from the Syrian Coalition’s components, were officially tasked with conducting consultations with the rebel factions to oversee restructuring the FSA Supreme Military Council.
Today’s announcement regarding forming a so-called military council is not related whatsoever to the Syrian Coalition’s efforts. The announcement by members of the dissolved FSA Supreme Military Council is just an attempt to mislead public opinion. We stress that those who care for the future of Syria and the triumph of the revolution, whether they are members of the dissolved council or any other faction, to act responsibility and support the Syrian Coalition’s efforts to coordinate with the rebel factions instead of working to obstruct and derail these efforts.
