Press Statement
Syrian Coalition
Istanbul, Turkey
November 24, 2013
The Free Syrian Army fighters are making steady advances towards ridding the country of Assad’s militias. Important strategic advances were made in rural Damascus when the FSA managed to take control of 6 villages, near Damascus’s international airport, securing an important supply route to eastern Ghouta, in preparation for a future push to to break the siege on Ghouta.
FSA heroes also defeated Assad’s soldiers in the villages of Zamaniyah, Qaissa, Bahariyah, Qassimiyah, Abbaddah, Deir Salman, and Deir Attiah, in rural Damascus. They made advances in several neighborhoods in Aleppo, and in Dourin Mountain and Kitf al-Sahawinah, in Latakia. They are repelling Assad’s gangs in rural Hama, east of Homs, Idlib, Daraa, Deir Ezzor, and the rest of Syria’s provinces.
These recent victories are the outcome of the cooperation of different military operations within the FSA. The Syrian Coalition encourages more cooperation among fighters on the ground at this crucial stage of the revolution. This will send a strong message to the regime and its allies that the Syrian people will not give up until they achieve the goals of the revolution for freedom and democracy.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
