On Thursday December 5, residents of Aleppo renewed their democratic triumph by holding the second local council election in Aleppo and rural Aleppo after 43 years of tyranny and exclusion.
This is the second time people of Aleppo democratically choose their legitimate representatives in local councils, in a strong challenge to the authority of the regime and its mercenaries.
The Syrian Coalition congratulates the Syrian people on their determination to establish freedom and democracy. It reiterates that soon after the removal of the regime of tyranny, the people of Syria will hold elections nationwide and celebrate their freedom.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
