Press Statement
Syrian Coalition
Istanbul, Turkey
October 24, 2013
The special facilitation provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the efforts made by the Syrian Coalition’s Hajj Committee, made it possible for around 4000 Syrian pilgrims to perform the duty of Hajj this year, 1434 Hijri (Islamic calendar).
A number of philanthropists and heads of Syrian pilgrim groups decided, in cooperation with the Syrian Coalition’s Hajj Committee, to donate a sum of 600,000 Saudi riyals to facilitate pilgrimage for the Syrian people.
The Syrian Coalition expresses its profound gratitude to the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for facilitating the journey of Syrian pilgrims to perform the duty of Hajj. The Coalition also thanks the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support of the Syrian people, as they continue to struggle to achieve their aspirations of freedom and dignity.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
