The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) welcomes the decision to oust the Iranian regime from the Commission on the Status of Women in response to its barbaric, repressive policies that contradict women’s rights, and the brutality it is showing against the popular uprising taking place in Iran.
The Iranian regime’s brutal crackdown on the ongoing demonstrators in Iran is inseparable from the crimes that the Iranian militias are committing in Syria as they confront the voices calling for freedom with fire, terrorism and repression.
The SOC renews its support for the popular uprising in Iran against the mullahs’ terrorist regime. It calls on the international community to prevent this regime and its militias from further interfering in Syrian affairs in favor of the criminal Assad regime, and to take collective international action to achieve the peoples’ aspirations for freedom.
