October 15, 2013
Today, the Syrian people mark the third Eid al-Adha since the start of the Syrian Revolution. They continue their treacherous journey towards freedom, facing the continuous terror of a tyrannical regime. Through the blood of fallen heroes, the tears of bereaved mothers, the hopes and prayers of widows and orphans longing for freedom, the cries of hungry children and the groans of the wounded, the Syrian people redefine the modern concept of freedom and shape the bright future of a free Syria.
The Syrian Coalition wishes everyone a happy and peaceful Eid al-Adha. The celebration of Eid al-Adha marks the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah. The Syrian Coalition, in this regard, expresses its gratitude to the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for all of the assistance they have provided to Syrian pilgrims this year.
The Syrian Coalition and the General Staff of the FSA renew the pledge to safeguard the rights of all Syrians regardless of their backgrounds, and to spare no effort in the pursuit of the Syrian aspiration for justice, dignity, and freedom. We will also continue to work with international humanitarian organizations to alleviate the tremendous suffering of the Syrian people.
The tyranny of the Assad regime will never break the will of the Syrian people. We will continue our struggle until we achieve justice, freedom and dignity.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
