On this glorious, exceptional day back in 2011, the first Friday in the history of the Syrian revolution saw the outbreak of the first anti-regime mass demonstrations in Dara’a city and the start of the Syrian revolution against the despotic Assad regime. This day reaffirmed of the Syrian people’s natural right to freedom, democracy and a civil state, and that the Arab Spring has arrived to our country.
On this solemn occasion, we pay tribute to the sacrifices of the heroes of Dara’a and their resilience over the past decade in the face of tyranny and crimes despite the siege, bombing, destruction, displacement, arrest and torture.
The heroes of Dara’a are fully aware that the revolution must continue and that there is no alternative to victory as the only way to building a state of equal citizenship and the rule of law – a state that respects all citizens and components.
The free people of Syria stands today with the people of Dara’a and salute their continuous revolutionary movement, their heroic resilience, and their demonstrations against the murderous Assad regime on every occasion, in every city, in every neighborhood of Dara’a and Quneitra in defiance of the regime.
The people of Dara’a, the cradle of the revolution, its fallen heroes, detainees, honorable women, youth, and its heroic men have set a shining example of the free Syrian people. They have being carrying the torch of the revolution at the forefront of battlefields and squares. We will continue to be inspired by their courage, heroism and recognize their legacy generation after generation.
