We were deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who left behind extraordinary achievements and great deeds that will always bear witness to his wisdom, awareness, depth of insight as well as unwavering commitment to the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations.
In the name of Syria and the Syrian people, we offer our sincere condolences and sympathy to the brotherly people of Kuwait and to all members of the Al-Sabah family.
The Arab and Islamic nations have lost a wise leader in these difficult, trying circumstances. We are confident that Kuwait, through its deep-rooted democratic experience and solid institutional structure, is able to overcome this great loss and that it will remain committed to the support of Arab peoples’ rights to regain their freedom and dignity.
We ask God Almighty to bless the deceased with his mercy and to reward him with perpetual Gardens of Bliss.
