Media Statement
Syrian Coalition
Istanbul, Turkey
June 23, 2013
Over 16 tonnes of medical aid was delivered from France yesterday to help combat the dire circumstances in Syria. The shipment was delivered with the help of the Syrian Coalition’s Assistance Coordination Unit and will be distributed in the northern parts of Syria.
The Syrian Coalition extends its gratitude to France, while stressing the continued shortage of medical supplies needed to meet the high demand as Assad continues his injunction on relief and medical supplies to the area.
The international community must do its part to continually ensure humanitarian access, and help to protect civilians against Assad’s brutality.
The Syrian Coalition asserts that it will continue the struggle against the Assad regime until the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, dignity and democracy are met.
We ask for mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
