Press Release

The Syrian Coalition highly commends the work of the OPCW-UN joint mission and calls for holding accountable those responsible for the use of toxic gas against innocent civilians in Syria.
The OPCW said in a statement yesterday that the information gathered by its team “lends credence to the view that toxic chemicals – most likely pulmonary irritating agents, such as chlorine – have been used in Syria.”
Earlier, independent investigations have confirmed the regime has used chlorine gas attacks against civilian areas. Activists from those areas showed canisters fired by regime forces bearing labels of their chemical contents. Also, in almost all of the incidents, the toxic substances were delivered by methods only the regime has access to.
The Coalition supports the work of the OPCW-UN team trying to discover the truth about toxic gas use in Syria, which will be the first step towards identifying perpetrators of war crimes and bringing to justice those who gassed men, women, and children to death in Syria.
