The Syrian Coalition mourns the death of the free Syrian actress Mai Skaf who passed away in the French capital Paris on Monday (June 23).
Mai passed away in her enforced exile, away from the streets of her hometown of Damascus where she joined the peaceful demonstrators against the Assad regime. We were saddened by the news of her death after a struggle with disease.
Mai did not hesitate to join the revolution of the Syrian people in its early stages. She chanted unreservedly for the revolution and participated in every protest and sit-in calling for freedom, the lifting of sieges on Syrian cities and towns, and the release of detainees.
The Syrian Coalition extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mai as well as to all the Syrian people as it reaffirms that the hope that Mai used to nourish will continue to be a beacon for all the free Syrians.
