The Syrian Coalition offers its sincerest condolences to the families of the martyrs killed in the horrific bombing, which targeted central Damascus on the 30th of April. We are deeply saddened for the innocent victims that have fallen prey to treachery, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery.
Prior to accusing anyone of committing this crime, the Syrian Coalition expresses its utmost condemnation and rejection of this type of violence. The bombing of civilian areas is unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances.
However, the Syrian Coalition does hold the Assad regime responsible for this tragic incident, as it has dragged our country into this dire situation. Additionally, Damascus remains under Assad’s control, therefore the Assad regime is responsible for crimes in this region. Furthermore, such bombings have become a trademark of the regime. It is well known that they have carried out several bombings of this sort, often in attempt to draw attention away the atrocities they commit on a daily basis, using heavy artillery and chemical weapons against civilians populations.
We ask for mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our prisoners.
Long live Syria and its people, free and honorable.
