Media Statement
Syrian Coalition
Istanbul, Turkey
June 25, 2013
As the violence in Sidon, Lebanon escalates, the Syrian Coalition calls upon all Syrians in Lebanon to stay clear of areas under Hezbollah rule, for their own safety. Hostilities are breaking out all over the country and the Lebanese government has failed to bring order and protect civilians, just as it has failed to put an end to the involvement of Hezbollah’s militias in Syria.
Egypt is also undergoing difficulties, as there is a call for demonstrators to intimidate certain groups. The Syrian Coalition warns those who live in Egypt against taking part in any demonstrations regardless of those who organize them.
The Syrian Coalition stresses that Syrians living abroad should stay away from all that which is inconsistent with the values and principles of our honorable revolution.
Syrians must be careful not to take any steps that may affect the sovereignty of neighboring countries and not to infringe on the laws and basic rights of the people in those countries.
We ask for mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
