In addition to his ongoing crimes against the Syrian people and the Syrian state, the head of the regime yesterday added one more despicable scene to the total farce that was conducted by his intelligence services in the past few days.
At the closing scene of this total farce, the war criminal Bashar al-Assad hurled insults at the Syrian people and tried to offend them using vulgarities hat could not be uttered by those who belong to a people or state as big as Syria.
All international parties are well aware that these fraudulent elections violate UN resolutions and does not reflect the popular will whatsoever.
Lots of leaked footage exposed the fraud and manipulation at the so-called polling stations which were manned by security apparatuses. The forgery and manipulation took place without the security forces showing any sign of shame, as if it were a routine procedure.
The Syrian people in the liberated areas and host countries are well aware of the conditions that their fellow Syrians in the regime-held areas are living in. Those are trapped in conditions similar to those of detention under the yoke of tyranny and coercion. We are well aware of the extent of distress and anger simmering in your hearts as well as the direct and indirect coercion, pressure and threat you are being subjected to. You are our fellow Syrians whom we are seeking to emancipate from the yoke of tyranny and injustice.
Our message to all mothers, widows, the wounded and to the families of the missing: do not be deceived by this charade, nor feel offended by the vulgarities that were uttered by the head of the regime. You are bigger than be affected by this foulness which was uttered by the enemy of our great homeland and people.
We stand in awe of the chants that resonated across Syria’s south and north in defiance of the regime and its enablers to reaffirm commitment to the struggle, liberation and change. We salute these chants as we assure the Syrian people that we will continue to do everything possible for the sake of Syria’s freedom and liberation.
We salute and honor our people. We are here for them and for their future. All the efforts we are making aim to ensure respect for their will. This is the great Syria in which there is no place for criminals and those who abuse Syrians, insult their history and hijack their will and aspirations. This is Syria whose sons and daughters presented to the world the first alphabets, science, knowledge, philosophy and civilization.
All military, civil and political forces are today required to close ranks and step up the efforts to protect the Syrian people, ensure respect for their aspirations, and work for the sake of their liberation and advancement. The Syrian people deserve to live a decent life that is worthy of their sacrifices, patience and struggle.
