Muhammed Hussein Qaddah

Dr. Muhammed Qaddah was born in 1964 in the Syrian province of Dara’a. He is married and has six children. Dr. Qaddah holds a degree in veterinary medicine and previously ran a pharmaceutical company and worked as a trading agent for several international companies.

Dr. Qaddah joined the revolution when it started on March 18, 2011 in Dara’a. He was a founding member of the revolutionary movement in the southern province of Dara’a. He was also one of the organizers of the National Coordination Congress held inside Syria, as early as 2011.

Dr. Qaddah was a founding member of the Revolutionary Command Council (RCC) and became the council’s general coordinator. The council’s founding conference was held on August 08, 2011.

As the Assad regime’s crackdown on the Syrian revolution intensified, Dr. Qaddah moved to Damascus on July 15, 2011 to take part in the Conference of National Salvation. He stayed in Damascus, and in cooperation with revolutionaries, he cofounded the RCC for Damascus and its countryside.

Dr. Qaddah was arrested on November 26, 2011, and detained by the regime in the Air Force Intelligence Branch for two months. After his release, he moved to the Al Hajar Al Asswad neighborhood to take part in forming the military council from which Liwa Ahrar Howran sprang. Dr. Qaddah founded a number of local councils in the province of Dara’a.

With the formation of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, Dr. Qaddah became the representative for Daraa’s local councils.

Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people's unity within the same Syrian soil is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
