In an escalation of its blatant aggression on Syria, Russia bombed an aid convoy that was delivering relief aid to the liberated areas north of Aleppo, killing and injuring a number of civilians.
Local sources reported that the trucks were loaded with fuel that was supposed to be delivered to the civil defense in Aleppo. The convoy was travelling on the road connecting Kafr Nasih and Ihris north of Aleppo.
It is worth noting that this is the fourth time Russian warplanes targeted aid convoys in the area.
Secretary-General of the Syrian Coalition Mohammed Yahya Maktabi said that Russia’s repeated bombing of aid convoys is a terrorist act that contravenes international law and is not a behaviour to be pursued by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Maktabi added that Russian operations in Syria are pure aggression targeting mainly innocent civilians, the Free Syrian Army, and aid convoys; which all plays to ISIS advantage as it tries to gain ground and advance in liberated areas. (Source: Syrian Coalition + Anadolu Agency)
