Fighter jets that are believed to be belonging to the Russian air force launched several airstrikes across Syria yesterday evening, targeting the towns of Al-Nashabiyah and Hammouriya in Rural Damascus. The airstrikes also hit a bakery in the neighborhood of Al-Salihin in Aleppo. The attacks left 36 civilians killed and many more wounded.
Russian warplanes also struck the town of Arbin in Rural Damascus, the town of Khan Shaykhun in rural Idlib. Ten more civilians, including women and children, were killed and dozens wounded in air strikes on the village of Mara’and near Jisr al-Shughur in rural Idlib.
Member of the General Assembly Shalal Qaddou said that the daily massacres committed by the Assad regime, backed its Russian ally, plunge Syria into more chaos and instability which will continue to spill over to the whole region.
Qaddou urges the international community to pass a binding resolution under Chapter VII to stop Assad’s crimes and to protect civilians who have been massacred by Assad for nearly five years. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
